How to save money on my car insurance

If you have one of these cars it is likely to get stolen

By admin • May 22nd, 2008 • Category: car insurance

According to the HomeOffice in the UK these are the cars that are most likely to get stolen (2006 numbers), so if you are an owner of one of these we suggest you consider trading in.

  1. Vauxhall Belmont
  2. Vauxhall Astra Mk2
  3. Ford Escort Mk3
  4. Austin/Morris Metro
  5. Vauxhall Nova
  6. Ford Orion
  7. Rover Metro
  8. Austin/Morris Maestro
  9.  Austin/Morris Montego
  10. Ford Fiesta

As we can see there are a few car brands that seems to be very popular with car thiefs, or perhaps it is just that they are such shit cars that the owners don’t bother putting in alarms or any other security device. Most likely they are glad to get rid of them and hopefully get some money back on the insurance.

However, there is an alternative list of the most stolen prestige cars, so if you own any of these you might seriously want to invest in a tracker or other top level security:

  1. Mercedes ML
  2. Range Rover
  3. BMW 3-series
  4. Porsche 911
  5. BMW 5-series
  6. Jaguar XJ-6
  7. Audi A3
  8. Land Rover Discovery
  9. Mercedes SLK
  10. BMW X5

Lets face it, if you can afford these cars and to insure them, you can also afford some decent security measures, perhaps even a personal guard!

  1. Jeesh, I own 7 of the top 10 most stolen cars! Good thing I don’t drive them that often. Very secure garage and watch dogs. Might just buy the other 3 just to say I own all the top 10. Think I will! Oh its good to be me!
